    G'day GB,

    Hmmm, I'm not convinced that another layer of contractors would protect them from liability, as I cannot think of any precedents where this layer existed, but I will have a look around.

    I also want to make it clear that I am not arguing for or against Telstra or any other party being liable, just pointing out that this is a very complex legal issue that we will no doubt hear about for some time to come.

    Anyway, here's something from Quigley over at the NBN stables...the blame game begins.....

    "But Mr Quigley laid the responsibility and blame for the latest series of asbestos exposures and mis-handlings caused by work on the national broadband network at Telstra’s feet.

    “We have a process of putting work with Telstra and trusting them to do their job properly,” he said. “Telstra retained ownership of the pit and pipe infrastructure and has primary responsibility for the remediation of the infrastructure to make it fit for NBN’s use."
