As a footnote to this post, I watched in horror tonight the opinions of the "good people" of Northam as expressed on Channel 9 and I was just left with the impression that these people were affrain that they were going to be murdered in their beds by refugees. I mean, it was just amazing to see people in obvious fear and loathing at the possibility that the Federal Government may be think of placing refugees in Northam. I was gob smacked at some of the comments.

We all have a right to an opinion but my god the hatred expressed. You would have been forgiving for thinking that the government were about to ship a hundred murderers, rapists and child molesters to the town.

It seemed obvious to me that these were mostly simple people who were moved to comment based on deep prejudice and fear of anything foreign. Real Pauline Hanson territory where red necks rule the roost.

Shameful stuff.
