Cheers Lappy,it beggars belief, that those on the Liberal side are suggesting that this was not a political "process" as opposed to one of sexual harassment.
That all the figures involved, all have extremely close ties to the LNP in Queensland(no pun intended)suggests otherwise.
Palmer says he's never met Ashby
2:06pm June 27, 2012
Mining magnate Clive Palmer says he's not one of the Queensland Liberal National Party (LNP) figures who met the man accusing suspended speaker Peter Slipper of sexual harassment.
The Australian newspaper reports senior LNP figures conspired with the former Slipper staffer, James Ashby, to bring down Mr Slipper, a Liberal Party defector.
It's reported that another Slipper staffer, Karen Doane, possibly approached Mr Palmer for a job to disassociate herself from the Speaker.
Other Queensland LNP figures named in legal documents for the case include former federal minister Mal Brough and state Energy Minister Mark McArdle.
Mr Palmer on Wednesday denied ever speaking with Mr Ashby or having any involvement in the court action.
"I've never spoken to him," he told ABC radio.
The mining magnate says he's heard "third-party" figures talking about the matter and has discussed it with his wife, but says she doesn't know Mr Ashby either.
"No she doesn't. She's a heterosexual woman," he said.
