England seem to have taken the concept of 'throwing your wickets away' to a whole new level.
Root's dismissal was as pathetic as pathetic gets.
I've seen a lot of cricket yet I can barely think of a weaker dismissal and this in a series already chock full of weak dismissals from the poms.
Next Test I'd give Root the 'you know what' and replace him with Ballance.
If Prior throws it away again tomorrow then he gets the chop too to be replaced by Bairstow.
If KP and Bell hadn't thrown their wickets away yet again then England might have been in with a show, but there is nothing to come after Stokes and Prior.
Even though Prior owes England big time and is due to score mountains of runs I think it is more likely we'll see cows jump over the moon than him score an undefeated century to see the poms to victory.
It would be nice to see Stokes get a ton though, being a breath of fresh air and all in an otherwise stale England batting line-up.
Australia's batsmen have made seven tons between them in the series thus far compared to England's doughnut. That says it all.
