    HC,
It has been widely acknowledged by many of the important economic reforms of the Hawke Government years in particular (e.g. freeing up the economy, floating of the dollar, lowering tariffs, company tax reductions etc).
However, for the large part, no real comparisons can be made to the current government.
The last 3 years have largely been about disunity and anti-business reforms (e.g. the world's highest carbon tax and mining tax). Gillard's governemnt in particular saw business as the enemy.
I rather see business, unions and government coming together to create greater economic growth for the greater good of the community.
Only by doing that can you create greater economic wealth and jobs for Australians.
