China can't grow at the expense of the West ... the West is virtually china's sole customer, having no consumer economy of their own. At present their is a big push in Washington to move to a protectionist approach and tax the hell out of chinese imports. China will have to know their limits with this so called market flooding, otherwise it will backfire on them.
Also, China are restructuring their military. They purchased a technology from the Germans (of all countries I don't know why the germans sold it to them!!!) which now means they have the quietest submarines in the world ... and they are all diesel powered. Apparently it works by having the diesel engine recharge the batteries. But the point is, that interms of subs they have better technology than america's fleet of nuclear subs. From what I read, it means that in the event of a war with the US they can get a nuclear missile shot from a submarine into the US much much easier. And it's also speculated the with China's new military power that they intend to take back insubordinate Taiwan.
US apparently (and they make this public policy) won't back down from a confrontation (which means a nuclear exchange) if they do this. So ... the next few years are going to be interesting interms of security as well.
