Santos maintained its full-year production guidance of 49 to 52 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe) for 2010.
The energy firm also said it is in advanced talks with a number of Asian buyers for binding sales contract for gas from its Gladstone liquefied natural gas (LNG) project and some deals were subject to government approvals.
"The gas sales discussions are to cover not just one train but to cover two production trains," Santos chief executive David Knox said, adding that it was looking to sell some 15 per cent stake in the project as part of the LNG sale agreements.
Knox also said the opportunity to collaborate with other LNG projects in the Gladstone area was "looking difficult" given its target of making a final investment decision by year-end.
