LYC's tax break is under the Malaysian "Pioneer" program as in "One who goes before preparing the way for others to follow".
Malaysia plans to reap several times LYC's tax concession from the Hi Tech manufacturers that will follow a reliable supply of REO. Not to mention the tech transfer.
Malaysia's a lot smarter doing that than propping up Proton.
