Hi All, An interesting thread. My contacts over recent years tend to have been with successful people ,from South East Asia and China . 30 years ago, more refugees from both. I don't see that hatred is really the right word. 30 years ago there was certainly some fear and deference. But now , increasing contempt better describes the emotions being developed. " white people " , especially anglocelts , are struggling with the loss of power and prestige which they had in the world . Their belief in their superiority looks increasingly ludicrous as the world changes. The stumbling approach of the West to covid and the embarrassing 4 years of Trump, is our modern day version of the fall of Singapore and Vietnam . Strangely, I think white Australians are adapting much better than most places, and I am optimistic that our evolution into a stable multicultural " Asian " country is on track. We can always point to stumbles, but the overall trend will continue.
