I have noticed a recent media release by ASIC (24-093MR dated May 2024) which describes a successful action against JP Morgan for actions which include the following characteristics, 'share trading showing suspicious characteristics' including;Does any of this ring a bell?
- - Trading very close to end of trading period
- - Large proportion of small volume orders
- - Lots of orders LESS THAN 5 shares
- - A number of the sell orders resulted in a decrease of the share price
- - The orders were unusual when considering the history of that share
Hopefully, this expands to all areas of the market. Do not hold your breath!
J P Morgan were fined $775,000. The whole Media Release is an interesting read
