There must have been some benefit to the customers to do these sort of contracts, otherwise why would the customer do them ?

If these contracts enabled ISX to gain customers and then continue to gain more and more customers, then a reasonable person would think there was some benefit to shareholders. Obviously RED5 and the CEO were also big beneficiaries but they also probably did most of the work in growing the business.
