Did anyone watch the interview on Channel 10 with Michael Towke two nights ago?
Front runner for seat of Cook - the PMs seat. - 84 ballots in first ballot run, PM ran dead last in a field of 5-6. - Asserts he was told by the PMs 'behind the scenes' men to shift his votes and exit under the threat of being ruined. - The media starting running slur stories about false links he had to corruption, Lebanese gangs, etc. Zero evidence. - Relented and the PM won the seat despite coming last in the first ballot. Others exited after being told SC had it in the bag with his votes.
A very odd move from last to first. Highly credible interview with a couple of tough questions by Waleed, answered without flinching.
Sounds a bit similar to this scenario. - New comer performing significantly well, new tech and energy in a 'spoken for' uncontested monopoly space. - Some quack drops an unfounded opinion piece. - Incumbent runs with story, devises disjointed SOR that at the time didn't include all they knew, apparently. Uninformed market. - Media runs slur interference campaign, had to publicly apologize, but continues to run non factual, sleight of hand stories. - Defendant delays and obfuscates.
Of course the above is all speculation and untested in court, but anyone who thinks back channels and the old boys club doesn't exist, has been smoking the mothers pajamas.
