CNP are collecting good fees from the various MCS syndicates and didn't want to loose the income stream or the management rights which they paid good money for.
The offer was script for units held and appeared IMO to be be a pretty lame attempt to get management rights.(and income stream) away from CNP.
If Tankstream had won, CNP could have potentially lost its lucrative management rights if enough unit holders voted to go with the offer.
The only value for many long suffering Centro MCS holders was that it gave them a way out from under CNP something many would do if there was a decent cash offer on the table.
CNP put up a very good fight and Tankstream obviously got it wrong. So its good news for now.
