there is no naked short sales,that is selling when you dont own,but short selling occurs when someone owns a stock then lends it to somebody else.wether you love the stock you own or not you can lend to someone else fee or not.funnily or not there are rules on selling when you know information.but lending maybe over lay a different perspective,before a major dilemma happens stock could be lent before a downside incident
