I've spent a lot of time there. I do know Ragusa. I'm more Mid East Coast Siracusa. I have traveled to many towns in Sicily. From May to August is a perfect time to spent time there. I did sell my house there as I found myself spending more time on sightseeing/on the move.
Sicilian Desserts are to die for ! ... I'm sure your Niece will be trying as many as possible.
