This is all part of the opening for the Defendants, albeit I strongly suspect that Collinson KC will have something further to say at the close of the prosecution's case and by way of outline before he calls his first witness (if he doesn't do it now - he'll probably want to re-assess after cross-X of the ASIC witnesses).
These cases always look well and truly prepared when looked at in print the day before the trial starts and they are. But the truth is, they're a moving feast and strategies will often change as the evidence unfolds and as the Judge makes observations in the well of the Court room. I think people will see that over the next week. Nobody can suggest that either Counsel aren't all over their materials. I think they've distilled the discreet issues very concisely.
