It's a not-so-subtle attempt to link Karen Chester (ex-ASIC employee) with the shorters, and try to paint the suspension as a product of corruption due to her alleged links. It's just more deflection and mudslinging. He's just trying to be subtle about it to avoid a defamation case.

I'll assume no knowledge of shorting on your part, so sorry if you already know some of this...

A long position is buying shares, holding them (long), and then later being able to sell them.
A short position is selling the shares, without owning them (so you hold negative shares), and then buying them back later (theoretically, buying them back cheaper to make money). Obviously, you can't just jump on ComSec and sell something you dont own. So you "borrow" them from a long term holder, or investment house, or whatever, sell their shares, and have a responsibility to return them later.

JK is saying that when we list, any shorters will have to buy the shares on market to repay their "borrowed" shares, and he wants to make them pay a lot.

Of course, if you get sued by multiple government departments, accused of fraud, and flee the country to avoid your responsibilities, you aren't going to get much positive attention from the big boys, so this is also all talk no substance. As usual from JK.
