That got me wondering (lots of questions, but of course, no answers):
Did wotshisname forget to tell ISX his TFN?
Did wotshisname tell ISX his TFN, but ISX forget to submit their withholding report to the ATO?
Did wotshisname ask for legal advice on whether it would be OK if ISX forgot to include his salary in the amount they submitted to the ATO, because reasons, and then, based on that legal advice, decide that ISX didn't need to tell ATO?
Did ISX actually report to the ATO the tax they deducted from wotshisname's salary, and so the ATO just had to wait for wotshisname to submit his tax return, and then jump out from behind the door and day "gotcha"?
I wonder when ATO noticed?
