Yeah, I agree Matt.
These are non renewable resources we're talking about here. I'd rather Australians own those assets rather than opening the door to any other country coming in here and setting up shop.
Eventually I think you'll see the Chinese owned mines like 7/11 stores - run by family & friends brought in to work ( if you get my drift )
I can see that headlining the papers one day.
Protectionism...maybe. But I'm comfortable with that.
It will surely look suspicious if once again its 99% take up of the offer by Asian investors like last time.
I'd be ropeable with ASIC & the Takeover Panel.
