Lots of think music here , as to whether the uncertainty with Tariffs and the push from the USA to create "independence " in critical minerals supply and production , is making all boats rise relating to rare earth minerals ....and how much of it is ASM news specifically !
Probably both .
The fact that ASM has USA/CANADIAN EXIM BANK "support".....and the fact that ASM has a South Korean operating manufacturing Plant ...has to be two driving factors .
Question I am asking myself ...do ASM get funding and support to ramp up their KMP Plant to 5200t ( think thats right ?) ....or do they get funding and support to replicate and build a Plant in the USA ???
OR BOTH ?
What further probes my thinking , is this US Govt announcement out a day or so ago .

Review has to be submitted within 180 days ...so you would think a fair bit of action is happening within and around this . The US Dept of Defense just has to shore up its critical minerals ( magnets for one ) supply.
Where does ASM sit in all this ..and as regards tariffs , is interesting indeed . An Australian company ..with a 50 year supply of critical minerals on home shores , but three years minimum away from production ...and with an Operating Plant in South Korea , that can supply now ,can be ramped up --or can be replicated !
