Hey, the way i read the tax document would suggest to me the 16% value of ASM shares is based on your purchase price of your ALK investment, not the average ALK share price you paid.
It took 5 ALK shares to receive 1 ASM share, then on your 20c scenario, your ASM cost base for tax purposes would be 16c (3.2c x 5).
Stand corrected if Ive read this the wrong way.
