565,065 shares were shorted last Friday, and total open short positions increased by 367,788. I've been thinking about it, and the fact that a "speeding ticket" wasn't issued seems like a textbook case of the dog that didn't bark. I understand that a correction was overdue, however one would have to think an 18% fall with both extreme and unusual trading patterns on no news must've caught someone in a regulatory position's attention.
