Anyway, as someone who plans to hold ASM for the foreseeable future I'm not too worried, but I do find it quite fascinating from a mathematical point of view, and there are definitely some patterns/strategies that emerge time and time again, so are clearly part of the algorithm. I also find the fact that HFT appears to be largely unregulated quite interesting, but getting annoyed about (a lack of) regulation is really just a waste of energy. It is what it is, and as @kalinda (IIRC) said, when you stop banging your head against the wall, it stops hurting. Lol.

I would not see it as a negative when they are there buying helping to provide a market on days when there might not be sales at all if there were nit there.
