Thank you for the correction, much appreciated. I read the ATO ruling on the demerger that ALK released but for some reason came away with the impression that the date of the demerger was the date that ASM shares were taken to be acquired. Great news for me, in addition to my allocation from the demerger, I bought 5000 shares at $1.27 and later sold 5000 for $5.60. With the "first in, first out" rule, that should mean I'll be paying less CG tax than I had anticipated.
