Lets put it this way. There was a big gap when the Twin Towers were attacked and the Markets shut for a few days close to the same in 1987.
I don't remember the exact listed market details but a (f----) fund manager didn't process my sale order till about a week later (at their leisure and favouring them). That bit I remember. Same in 1987 for gold shares on sale.
I think old school teachers, applying a bit of pain to assist memory might have been onto something.
