Hafnium, named after the Latin name for Copenhagen, was discovered 100 years ago this week, by the two Danish scientists, It’s a greyish metal and is commonly used as a neutron absorber in the control rods of nuclear power plants and nuclear submarines, and as an insulator in computer chips, as well as in aerospace industry as we talked about recently on this forum.
