    It is most likely that Van Eck will not maintain their existing holdings after February without some significant announcements before the 28th February that would need to drive the SP up well above current levels. Certainly there are a range of things in the pipeline that could potentially generate formal postive announcements but unless these are posted in advance of 28th of February Van Eck may no longer be a holder in March. The big increase in SP in August/September was most probably driven by VE acquisition but it would be expected that VE would wish to minimise the damage on selling out and probably line up some buyers to transact in the CSPA on 18th of March. If 4m shares get unloaded in the one day we must expect it will have some impact.

    If Van Eck dumps ASM and then some great news comes after 18th March that might be the best outcome for long term holders as Van Eck might have to spend up bigtime if ASM rejoins the index at the following rebalance.
