What I find extremely fascinating is that both the MVIS Index and REMX hold a greater stake in ASM than MP Materials which has a market cap of over USD6B. The stake in ASM is also greater than Iluka which has a market cap of over $4B. This was accumulated over a very short period of time prior to the ASX300 addition announcement and I believe they are still accumulating.
Fundamentally something must have changed for their analysts to include ASM in such a hurry. I think we are fast approaching a period where you do not want to be caught with your pants down and be out of this stock. No advice by any means, but that is my gut feel.
Moving forward, the question is how many more funds are looking at ASM especially in two weeks time after the rebalance?
