They are tracking this rare earths index complied by MVIS.

ASM is currently 4.34% in this index as at 4/9/2021 so potentially VE will have to do some more buying to lift its current 3.92% to match this index.

Refer other posts in the other thread but Vanguard will probably need to purchase approximately one million shares in ASM for its Australian Shares managed fund and VAS EFT to match the ASX300 index.
Obviously VE will have a larger position than Vanguard in ASM as VE Rare Earth ETF currently holds close to 5 million ASM.

The last review of the MVIS REMX index available appears to be for Q2 published on 11th June with no ASM exposure shown then. This index review is published quarterly so there should be a September review available soon which should include ASM as an addition. I assume that clients of MVIS must be updated in real time.
