your correct but irs one of many ways of trading, to simplify why swing traders wait for break up is this..
We used to call it a smily face pattern line down ( downtrend) line accross ( range trading) line up (uptrend )
once in established uptrenf you can buy, ignore the dips..
this one is in line accross stage, safe traders will miss out on few pips ..
very basic analogy but explains it easy
