Best way is to get him simply screenshot the buy/sell transaction to see if he truely had $100k worth in ASN. Guilty (of lying) until proven innocence.
And if lying, then says a lot about having ego, pride or simply being a pathologic liar. Then anything else he says won't speak volume.
That's just how I read people anyway.
