Could be both, Short covering or selling. For both goals the sp shouldn't be going higher or lower. Fact is, 17c / 17.5 is the sp they battle it out at.

But it would make more sense to cover shorts or to accumulate in case the expected anns drop and the market would act positively. But nothing is guaranteed this day, even the LTR - t/o had just a short lived impact as the China Li Floor-Price scares the crap out of people. Fact is, the Li-price won't drop below production / transport cost and over time those will only go up, never down. $80k / t was an overshot, $20k / t won't be sustainable. The Li-price will settle somewhere in between and as it looks like the demand will continue to be huge.
