Assay Results From MRN12004
Assay results from the deeply weathered mineralisation intersected in MRN12004 have confirmed the continuity and thickness of the targeted banded carbonate and lead sulphide horizon. The results also identified a new zone of strong copper mineralisation enriched in gold.
Lead and silver mineralisation from the deeply weathered banded carbonate-chlorite rock averaged 2.74% lead and 5.4 g/t silver over a true width of 12.1 metres (Table 1). This mineralisation occurs within a broad 43.3 metre true width interval averaging 1.54% lead and 8.9 g/t silver. Weathering processes appear to have leached this zone of silver and lead when compared with results from the deeper, fresh banded carbonate and lead sulphide mineralisation in MRN12003B (Figure 2 and Figure 4).
The geology and assay results in MRN12004 resemble historic holes higher up but better results are expected deeper below the oxide interface (Figure 4). The current daughter hole, MRN12004B, which aims to intersect fresh sulphide mineralisation below the oxidised zone is at 714 metres and should pass through the target horizons in about two weeks (Figure 2 and Figure 3).
Assay results from the Copper Vein Zone returned strong copper and gold values associated with secondary and primary copper sulphide minerals (Table 1 and Table 2). An impressive 19.2 metre true width interval averaged 1.87% copper and 1.6g/t gold including 8.9 metres at 2.2% copper and 2.4g/t gold. These are the best copper and gold results intersected on the project to date and scope for additional mineralisation is being assessed (Figure 6).
Additional assay results from the lower portion of the Copper Vein Zone and the Lower BIF horizon (Table 2) are pending. Further wide spaced step-out drilling is anticipated once visual results from the current daughter hole are at hand.
