Interesting debate you're all having. And you might be surprised the many factors that affect TRADING but generally not so much INVESTING

e.g. The whole split/consolidation ... splits viewed as positive (so buy) and consolidation viewed as negative. Even better if you can pair trade going long the split stock and short the consolidating stock

e.g. the day of the week trade (aka the weekend effect or Monday effect) where stocks are lower on a Monday (therefore buy) than the preceding Friday. Rational being,, trader doesn't want to hold over a weekend ... to many bad things could happen ...

e.g. the time of day ... why do you think most trades are done in the first 15-30 mins after the open and last 15-30 mins before the close?

e,g, the month/Seasonal effect (popular being the January effect, Santa Rally, sell in May, ...)

Those are just a small number of well known/observed/studied stock return patterns done by financial researchers (not us mere HC posters) and even the Federal Reserve e.g.  Fed on Weekend Effect

Whatever happens pre/post consolidation wont matter if the fundamental business of SEA doesn't hold up. If price goes down significantly its because sellers believe the business is worth less on an adjusted per share basis.

The reason so many small stocks keep going down post consolidation is the business is more or less "worthless" and consolidations are necessary to be able to trade.

    Just my view.

Now OPEC+, you guys consolidate production!
