The Aussie gov is just the glue that brings the FID together. It would be bad optics if other national governments were giving MOUs but the Aussie government gave nothing.
However, I do agree that this is a geo play on a Macro level.
The speculation will end overly the next 5 months. So at least by the end of 2023 we will know for sure the direction of this project.
