Thanks@Vhils301, really appreciate your effort in attending and getting onto SG in person.
Hmm, not encouraging, yet understandable to some respect with the hammering the Aussie Ni sector has had in the last week or two particularly. Everyone must be feeling pretty battered. However:
- Smirking has to go; never a good look.
- Bradbury story has to go; is the company run by skill or just stumbling luck?
- Avoidance has to go; being evasive makes the speaker uncomfortable and anything said flows with that energy.
TBH I expected better of SG in the new year. He was more serious in the in-confidence preso with potential govt investors in the room; it shouldn't be any different at a BMI event. That young guy wearing hi viz may be the most astute, savvy, well funded & connected investor in that room. Just give everyone the best QPM experience whoever they are.
As a project matures, it is inevitable attention turns to details, and swings away from the higher level story. Just like mining junior explorers getting drill hits and easy SP bumps, there is less wriggle room when you're approaching FID and there is an expectation management should have most all the answers covered for any prospective investors.
From the quarterly it appears most tech workstreams are near complete. I do think SG/team should at least acknowledge final yet to do's and not create grey info-free zones for investors to conjure up their own gloom scenarios. Equally, focus on the stuff that has been ticked off, and also take time to revisit the big picture which is why most got into QPM in the first place.
@lukeandrew1's excellent Rick Rule link was an eyeopener when he spoke of his first hand view of the Indo nickel environmental devastation, the interviewer too was pretty aghast. This is what we are changing at an industry level. If anything, the competition's ESG record has gotten worse in the last couple of years. Be loud and proud about our place!
Maybe tomorrow's event in Sydney will show Melbourne was an off day. Hope some here are attending...
