This week had some great macro news (thanks @gains123).
Nickel being reclassified from strategic to critical mineral in Australia will build in the background as the federal government looks to finetune its industry response.
In the meantime, it's worthwhile to take a look at two potential ways the QLD government is looking to assist QPME & QPM.
As per our recent quarterly:
* Here's some detail on the $520M LEIP fund:

> Click on the LEIP Program Guidelines button
I now think SG has been modest with the team's acumen by using the Bradbury inference with the MGP acquisition.
The momentum turnaround for actually reducing hard to abate industrial sectors that contribute a significant amount of Australia's GHG emissions has been quite remarkable.
This LEIP is hands down tailormade for the QPME team and BB met coal miners to partner, build out the infrastructure to capture and transport their methane to Townsville, with said govt assistance.
Result:
- Lower CAPEX for all parties.
- QLD & Aust governments meet their fugitive methane emission reduction targets
- Longer funded runway for QPME expansion &
- Huge boost for QPM FID.
* The second program run is another $520 million one, Treasury's 'Invested in Queensland' program, which is where our Significant Investment Status originates.

The page signs off by calling out the QPM TECH project as an example of the program in action:
IMO, there is a lot of redundancy for govt support, particularly if K-SURE save their powder for Stage 2.
Remember, now Premier Miles extended our SIS in Sept-23, and also was part of the Lansdown Precinct being declared a Prescribed Project.
QPM's TECH project has built steady state support over many years, and IMO the QLD government will want to do whatever they can to see it through.
While SMT is a wildcard with recent NC developments,
Premier Miles I reckon is The one Who can see the TECH Project will be simply awesome for the state.
