QPM is doing exactly that...although rather than burning flared methane and getting zero utility for it...they will gain a commercial output and utility in the form of electricity generation and also production input to the TECH plant. Thats as good as it gets. Taking waste materials and products and utilising them.

Legally yes, the emmissions accounting for the state can now transfer the emmissions tonnes to another column. It might sound dodgy if you look at it that way but it is absolutely more transparent and open than the majority of pie in the sky apparent green projects around the world, which are touting green emmissions targets by spending money in far flung areas, basically to fund special abatement projects that really arent always monitored and maintained.

At the very least if TECH becomes a reality, we have it all measured and on the books. Its certified to show and prove where the inputs come from, how they are used and where they are going.
