I do believe it is in the AEMO and governments best interest to keep this going, but they're caught in between a rock and a hard place. Do they A) uphold the value of ESG and ultimately, cut this coal generator out of the fleet (and likely cause a spike in wholesale electricity prices which is then passed onto the consumer, not great for your election run next year) or do they B) allow for a rule change and essentially backpedal on ESG having any merit/weight to it - interesting to see the outcome of this one! This may take time to deliberate on aswell.
