Yeh just have a read through here https://wattclarity.com.au/articles/2024/12/12dec-forecast-lor3-mon16dec-part02/

Alot of unexpected outages at coal plants, particularly with some of the bigger generators. Not sure if these price forecasts will hold, but the run between now and Christmas I'd anticipate some serious volatility

https://aemo.com.au/Energy-systems/Electricity/National-Electricity-Market-NEM/Data-NEM/Data-Dashboard-NEM just look at NSW for next Monday.. they are currently 3000MW short in that region. Means they will be heavily dependent on every other state to pull them through, however VIC is forecast for 37 degree and extremely high demand too. Very likely could see a blackout and AEMO intervention / government intervention. A cynical part of me hopes to see blackouts, because this will finally make the government accountable for a complete disregard of reality in energy markets. This will also spurn pressure into seeing more gas put into the market, and will definitely put tailwinds behind QPM
