It looks like Gladstone Pacific Nickel Ltd (Clive Palmer) is not a possible buyer of NC ore. GPNL terminated the purchase of land for a HPAL refinery some years ago. They had huge plans including shares in a mine in NC and eventually producing over 100kt p/a Ni.
Gladstone seems a logical site for a DNI plant 450km nearer to NC than Townsville, deep water port. Orica produces nitric acid and ammonia, state development land and gas.
If as Penny Wong said in NC last week, at least two companies were interested in forming partnerships with NC maybe another DNI is not too far away.IMO.
