AZeneca could also complement the beta antagonist in this overall product with Nadolol ? (currently another blocker formoterol fumarate is used mainly to broncodilate), so actually, it might not be a race. Nadolol does not have to stand alone. I wish I knew more about this class of drugs. AZ might want Nadolol to pair with their co-suspension tech, in place of formoterol fumarate (?), essentially a totally different product.
Frankly this might make other competitors more interested in invion's wares as they struggle to match innovation.. So that's another perspective ...
