I bought an Asus from Officeworks and quickly returned it.
At work we have a Samsung X20, and I prefer it's feel and layout.
I thought the screen on the Samsung was sharper too.
And the Samsung X20 is a 4:3 screen not a widescreen, like virtually all laptops at the moment (including Asus).
I don't see the point in a widescreen laptop, unless you like your 15 inch screen projecting like a normal 12 inch screen. The right hand side is (with the exception of a few sites) is always blank.
