re: most likely to release on friday after closing macrae, I agree with the points you have made regarding media relations. Mccrae is your typical down to earth aussie battler, honest and genuine in my opinion, but could well have been better served if he wasn't the media face, so to speak. Sometimes, as a manager/director, it is far better to play to the masses to get your own way, talk the talk, all that soft stuff that everyone hates, but most know, has to be done.
On the other side of the coin, I'm sure the aussie battler, hard working types like mccrae, will appeal to the investors and shareholders. In fact I find his approach refreshing, but as you point out, this will not appeal to some types, and perhaps this was also evident when they were capital raising, and as a result, these Capital houses can't stand the fact he is going to make a killing.
Good on him I say, but for crying out load ASX, release the god damn report!
