You have observed the fight that is going on.
On the one hand there are large funds shorting the ASX and on the other somebody and imo the RBA or a allied organisation is protecting the market from any significant fall. By weeks end the result is close to a zero net loss/gain.
IMO we also have probably G.S. operating in Japan smashing the POG in preparation for the US Feds unwinding of all their Trillions of QE. Funny when Japan opens the market usually recovers and you can often see the POG is shorted and very negative in Japan. Last year G.S. reported a huge profit out of working the Yen.
I agree rising interest rates will smash the markets, housing market, mortgage market. I also think if the RBA does not raise rates by the middle of next year in a significant way the Big Four will begin raising rates again.
I dont think the RBA has any option because if they dont move, the banks will take it out of their hands.
