Agreed ozz1 - when I first started to invest in shares (about 25 years ago) I attended an ASX open day (in Sydney) where various brokers had stalls and gave out brochures etc. etc. There were talks given and one that I attended was by a then prominent broker whose sentiment was, and to paraphrase, "not to take notice of charting - share movements were events driven (good results, poor results, good announcements, poor announcements" etc.)
Unfortunately since then we have also had to endure the manipulation by short selling, bot trades, pumpers and dumpers etc.
A chart might show you what has happened but its another thing to tell you what will happen.
