The ASX (Australian Stock Exchange) Grain Futures market traded record volume in Futures and Options today. This year, the ASX volumes have continued rising each month, with last month another record month. Today around 4,700 lots trades, with a little over 2000 lots trading in Barley Futures and Options. Barley Futures prices jumped $10/tonne today, with the final trades for the day @ $213.00 for Jan 2006. Barley Options traded over 1,000 lots in the 210 Puts. In Wheat, both Jan 07 and Jan 08 traded, with Jan 07 closing up $3.00 @ $228.00 and Jan08 closing up @ $230.00. (Everybody listening now - Australia has production problems!!)
