I wrote a quick reply to that but did not post as I re-read yours and saw the word "option". Did the performance shares come with attached options?
This was my response to the above (clearly the editing got stuffed):
hey, I like what u wrote as it has substance so will give this once only reply on that to say how I think about the 2 (not saying more cos it will derail from ISX) 1, escrow is a known quantity, so can be factored in to valuations with spreadsheets. 2, performance issues are an unknown for valuation....... which means calculations can be factored in with experience and guesswork .......... (unless there is no reasonable way to do that guesswork - and that then creates another set of issues). so I do see a difference between them from a valuation perspective, but from a company/shareholder viewpoint I much prefer management rights/options.
