As to why the suspension continues: suppose, hypothetically, that ASX knew that ASIC was investigating ISX but wasn't able to release any details because that's not how those investigations work. ASX then might not allow ISX to trade, either because the market was not fully informed or because the ASIC investigation might impact on the number of shares on issue and therefore the value of each share.
Then ISX would continue to be suspended, while ASX made no announcements by way of explanation. The situation would continue, until ASIC was satisfied or ready to inform the market.
Not that anything like that is happening now.
