Also, in reports I've read recently, "ex-bankers" are now centrally placed in federal Treasury.

I suppose its fairly normal practice for people who work in banking to further their careers by moving into Govt depts, including ASIC and APRA as well as ASX.

I'm uncertain as to how much influence they would have on corporate regulation... maybe they've learned from their mistakes and are using that knowledge to prevent similar dysfunctionality in banking? I don't know.
